Koalakit was originally set up by a father and daughter team that had been working on solar tile experiments for tent lighting solutions. The idea for a portable solar charger was born from the unique qualities of the tiles, in being durable, flexible and performing very well under low light conditions they seemed a perfect match for charging small electronic devices in harsh outdoor conditions. Although coming from humble beginnings, originating from a garden shed, the brand is continuing to grow and has already been tried and tested in varying weather conditions from an expedition group trekking across the South Pole to individuals on holiday in Cyprus.

As a brand Koalakit is dedicated to producing high quality products, along with products that provide environmentally friendy energy solutions. Our range of solar mats and chargers allow for green, efficient power wherever it is required. Koalakit is currently working with solar technology to reduce the waste of fossil fuels and provide a potential solution to the increasing costs of electricity.

In Spring 2012 Koalakit was taken to the South Pole and used to charge small electronic devices with great success.

We specifically designed the Koalakit Polar for use in snow, removing zips and adding extra features to allow easy mounting onto tents. The team we're very impressed with the results (so much so that some were left behind for others to use).

Testimonial from the team: "All good here and your invention worked a treat. We used only one unit all the way and it charged us in all conditions. Unfortunately we left 3 devices for further use in Antarctica as we thought they were brilliant. Other teams used other devices, however yours won hands down."

Since then Koalakit productst have been taken by individuals on many trips, including hoildays in Cyprus to treks to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro.
